I am in the market for a new compact and have narrowed my search to these 2 models..Kubota L2500 and the New Holland TC 25. Both are same price and comparable features. both are 4 wheel drive. I do not want Hydro or turf tires or mower deck!! This is a tractor, not a high priced lawnmower!The Kubota has no plastic, which I like(unlike the NH which has plastic fenders, cowl, etc..) I cant help but picture the plastic in 10 yrs. Aside from cosmetics, I would appreciate any opinions or advice( however biased it may be!) on these 2 tractors. I will also have a front end loader on the tractor.

I just recently bought the NH TC33D and like it very much. I looked at the and John Deere. I liked the NH features the best. Also, I decided that I didn't like what metal looked like in ten years. I've seen too many thatneeded repainting on the hood and fenders. I got mine with the Ag tires, bucket loader, and a Rhino rotary mower. So far, very happy with the power andfeatures. I also like the pricing the best on the NH. Wish you luck with your decision. ....

I have a boomer 1630 and love the plastic fenders and hood. I already dropped a bucket of sod on the hood and it did not amek any marks in the paint. Most BIG tractors like Cat, New Holland and CASE all have plastic hood and fenders.Any question send me an emailThanksMark ....

Hi-I have an NH 1725 and its the best tractor I've seen on the market at that size. The three point hitch is adjustable which is a life saver.Steve ....

went thru the same comparision a yr ago (but add in the NH 1720 (pre boomer)too. I found the L2500DT to have the most bang for MY buck. Plus I liked the Kubota dealer (carver equipment only 1 hr away) better than the local multi brand NH, Massey, Kubota dealer who wanted only to sell me what he had not what I wanted. Some one who will be there after the sale for you (phone, e-mail, etc) is very important. You will probably have lots silly little questions youu will want answers for.Just my $.02 happy tractoring ....

I shopped around for my new L-3010 and found I liked the Kubota lineup best. I would imagine that it really comes down to your gut instinct and how good your dealer is. Both machines should last you a lifetime and giv e you good efficient performance.I got the hydro with front loader and 72" Brushhog Squeeler....love the whole set up and urge you to consider the Hydro, it works great!!!! ....

I can't help but ask, why are people afraid of plastic? I would think that Manuf'sdecided to use plastic because of how long it lasts,I can't imagine they were trying to save weight!If your afraid of something that will last 250-500 years in a landfill, how can yoube considering Metal? Something that probably won't last the life of the tractor.Scratches on paint tend to change color to a nice shade of RUST. Plastic on the other hand exposesthe exact same color. Something to remember,like anything else, plastics have come a long way fromwhen they were introduced. Thanks to NASA, plastics are almost impervious to everything. Early Generations became weakfrom extensive sun exposure, and gas ate through them. How many gas cans are now made outof plastic, as well as car/truck dashes. Not just to make them ligher, my 9 yearold car with a plastic dash still looks like new. Only problem, my metal fenders are starting to showage from all the Road salt PA uses. ....

I completely agree with MLS. Plastics today are, in many instances, superior to steel. I checked out the others, and plastic is one of the things that swayed me to the Boomer. My, not really that old by tractor standards, Oliver was getting that old Rust look about it. ....

MLS, while I appreciate your reply, and I will agree that plastics have come a long way, I feel that the plastics used in these tractors construction is inferior to metal. Sure, metal dents, but plastic cracks and breaks. I have a 48 model Ferguson that would be a heap if it were made of plastic. Aside from the cosmetic issue,have you checked out Boomer series? The plastic issue that concerns me is that the grab handles (that assist in getting on and off of the tractor) are attached to plastic. These feel weak and they flex. Kind of feels like the fenders are going to ripp off eventually!Again thanks for your reply. ....
